Great Bidlake Manor sleeps 12 people very comfortably with additional space for a cot or extra child‘s bed.
There’s lots of space to be together whether celebrating in the glamorous dining hall or having a sing song in the music room. There are numerous cosy areas to hide away with a book beside a roaring fire and there’s a games room for kids of all ages. There are huge beds and comfy chairs everywhere, several large fireplaces and log burning stoves, stone mullion windows and ancient beams, under-floor heating and pristine bathrooms. The accommodation is arranged over two floors with 5 bedrooms on the first floor and the 6th in The Tower.

GROUND FLOOR
Dining Hall
A glamorous dining hall with a grand stone fireplace. The dining table can seat 12 people.

Sitting Room
A bright luxuriously appointed room with silk fabrics, dominated by a huge open fire. This room has a small discreet TV with Sky television and i-pod dock.

TV/Snug
A cosy snug dedicated to watching DVDs, Sky TV or Playstation.

Music Room
A fun room with a glossy baby-grand piano, guitars, tambourines and other bits and pieces so everyone can make music.

Library
An eclectic collection of books, an antique American roll topped desk. Pull up a chair in front of a roaring fire and lose yourself in a book for a whole afternoon.

Breakfast Room
Just off the kitchen, a large scrubbed pine table seating 12. Antique pottery and a wood burning stove. A huge oak door leads out to the courtyard and gardens.

Kitchen
A large well equipped kitchen opening onto a large breakfast room with log burning stove and scrubbed pine table. Oak faced units, granite worktops, and a large double oven range style cooker. Well equipped to satisfy the keenest cook and plenty of space so everyone can help.

Rear Lobby
Leads from the breakfast room with access to the front of the house, a second stair case to the east wing and access to the boot room

Boot Room
Loads of hanging space and room for boots and wellies. No Manor House would be complete without a boot room.

Downstairs Cloakroom with WC and basin.

FIRST FLOOR
From either the grand oak staircase in the dining hall or the secondary staircase in the rear lobby:

Gidleigh
A large double room with two arm chairs, original art work and antique furniture .
Decorated in neutral tones of stone and oak. Ensuite bathroom with a bath and large walk in shower.

Ingra
Entrance with dressing area. A Large double bedroom with a pair of comfy chairs, original art work and decorated in muted pinks. Large bathroom off the entrance lobby with bath and separate shower.

Hameldown
The largest double bedroom with antique furniture, original art work and comfy chairs.
Decorated in sophisticated soft greys and silver. Bathroom with shower over the bath.

Ashbury
Entrance lobby leads to large bathroom with a bath and separate shower. Another door from the entrance lobby leads into the double bedroom, decorated in honey tones and one arm chair.

Foxworthy
A smaller double room but still with plenty of hanging space in the handmade oak wardrobe. Decorated in tranquil shades of blue with one chair and an ensuite shower room with WC

The Tower
Across a large landing/seating area (The Solar) is The Tower.
The large bathroom with shower over the bath is on the first floor level then a few steps lead to the Tower Bedroom. A large double bedroom with dual aspect and an arm chair.

The Solar
The oldest part of the house with a gorgeous window and ancient beams. It connects The Tower with the rest of the house and leads onto the secondary staircase landing. This is a large seating area with a book case and an incredible Chinese travelling desk. It’s a great place to chill out or have a game of chess.

Games Room
On the lower level of The Tower accessed from the Solar or at ground level from the rear of the house is a games room filled with board games, toys, darts board.

Second Kitchen
Just off the Games Room is a secondary kitchen with eating area. The kitchen has a door to the rear of the house and could also combine with the rest of the Tower to form an independent unit.

Laundry Room
In a separate, restored barn is a laundry room with an industrial size washing machine and tumble dryer.

Out side
Great Bidlake Manor sits in 13 acres of garden, grounds and woodland. It is surrounded by beautiful Devonshire country side; rolling hills and farm land.
A very sheltered courtyard is accessed from the Dining Hall and Breakfast room. This is a sunny area and is perfect for al fresco dining and barbecues. This area is equipped with outdoor dining furniture for 12 people.

The old half circular steps lead from the courtyard onto the main lawn, a sunny spot sheltered with mature hedges and tree and facing south and west. Six steamer chairs are up on this lawn, perfect for soaking up the sun or gazing out over Devonshire’s rolling hills.
There are large open spaces and paddocks for children to run around and woodland to explore.
