Low cost brown trout angling is available at Fernworthy with permits purchasable on site from the self-service kiosk.
Kennick, Tottiford & Trenchford near Bovey Tracey, Devon - 01647 277587 Kennick is a top rated premier rainbow trout fishery with angling from the banks and boats. Permits can be purchased from the permit hut. Access to Kennick is restricted to anglers only due to the narrow banks and anglers' backcasts.

Venford Reservoir near Ashburton, Devon - 01647 277587/685713 Venford is a pretty lake lying on the southern edge of Dartmoor National Park and serves as a good starting point for walks on to the open moorland. Environment Agency rod licence holders can fish for free for natural brown trout.

Lopwell Dam Located just 3 miles north of Plymouth and 7 miles from Tavistock. 01822 855700
On the upper tidal mark of the River Tavy is an excellent site for bird watching and walking.
This wildlife haven is well worth a visit. Lopwell Dam is a designated Local Nature Reserve (LNR) covering an area of approximately 5 hectares. The area consists of several different habitats including mudflats, freshwater marsh, wildflower meadow, scrub-grassland, saltmarsh and semi-natural woodland.
The area is also designated as a Site of Special Scientific Interest (SSSI).
The Mary Tavy within Dartmoor National Park - 01647 277587 This area forms part of the open moorland of Kingsett Down and Black Down Common with some river valleys and mixed deciduous woodland of particular ecological value.
Walkers, cyclists, and horse riders are permitted to use the numerous bridleways that cross over the area.
